Small Groups

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

Acts 2:42

As Journey has grown over the years, our aim has been to maintain the close feel of those early days.  We want to be a small church with a lot of people.  One of the best ways we know to accomplish this is to find ways for us to gather throughout the week in smaller groups.  The early church modeled this for us in the book of Acts, and we want to follow that example.  Church isn't a place we go to one day a week.  Church should be the people who become like family to us, the friends we make as we live out our faith in our everyday lives.

We have three tiers of small groups at Journey: Interest Groups, Connection Groups and Life Groups.  We invite you to consider which options might be the best fit for you.  If you have any questions, we are happy to help!  You can contact Pastor Amy at

Interest Groups run on a term schedule:
12 weeks in the spring, 6 weeks in the summer, 12 weeks in the fall.

Interest groups exist to create fun, meaningful ways to cultivate friendships, and encourage people along in their faith journey.  We want to make it easy for people to find community and get plugged into Journey Church.

Our Connection Groups meet at different days and times.

Connection Groups are larger group gatherings offered by Journey Church for the sake of establishing faith and learning how to live it out practically.  We typically start new classes or studies in the fall, and then again in the winter/spring. Some examples would include Rooted, Journey Together and Financial Peace.

Life Groups are small groups that meet in people’s homes.  They really do live out Acts 2:42 as they study the Bible, encourage one another, pray for each other and share meals.  Simply put – these people do life together.  If you are interested in joining a Life Group, please see the list below to see which groups currently have space available, and reach out to the contact person listed.  If you are interested in leading one, completing Growth Track will be your first step.
